Anti-Backlash Nuts

May 1, 2006
The W Series of anti-backlash nuts rely on a patent-pending method of preloading the threaded nut halves to provide a system that maximizes system stiffness while reducing drag torque.

These nuts can be used with the vendor’s existing line of linear actuators or as a standalone product along with the vendor’s selection of lead screws. The nut design compensates for wear while eliminating lock-up issues common when traversing from worn areas to unworn areas of the screw, says the vendor. Using a proprietary blend of self-lubricating polyacetal and with the vendor’s rolled 303 stainless steel screw material, the W Series nut is designed to provide low drag torque and smooth operation throughout the life of the assembly.
