FDT Specification

What it is:

The Field Device Tool (FDT) specification standardizes the interface between field devices and host systems, using standard Device Type Managers (DTMs).

Why you should care:

Users can manage devices from multiple vendors, employing multiple fieldbus protocols, in a single engineering environment.

Suppliers can minimize the number of different configurators they need to provide with their devices.
