The HART Communication Foundation is actively seeking qualified nominees for the 13th annual HART Plant of the Year Award. End users and manufacturers from all world areas are encouraged to enter their plant or customer’s plant for this prestigious award. The HART Plant of the Year is the only international award presented to end user companies in the process automation industry to recognize the exceptional and valuable application of HART Communication technology. Nomination forms, selection criteria, and details are available.
“Through the HART Plant of the Year Award Program, we are able to provide global recognition for the work of end users who have demonstrated ingenuity and value in the application of HART technology,” says Ted Masters, Foundation President and CEO. “For more than a decade, the recipients of this award have provided powerful, real-world examples of the significant benefits and savings HART Communication delivers throughout plant operations.”
The HART Plant of the Year receives an award plaque to display at its facility, exposure to the global industry press, and a full feature article in a major trade publication (88,000+ circulation plus online posting). Information also appears in the Foundation newsletters and on the HART website. An official awards presentation is held at the plant site.
Best candidates have taken the capabilities of HART instruments beyond configuration and calibration, or are using real-time device diagnostics and process information integrated with control, information, asset management or safety systems to lower operating costs and improve plant reliability; have documented their results; and are willing to share their story with the industry.
Selection of the HART Plant of the Year is based on a plant’s use of HART Communication not on the size of the installation. Previous recipients include BP (Canada), Clariant (Germany), Dow (USA), DuPont (USA), Mitsubishi Chemical (Japan), MOL (Hungary), Monsanto (USA), PDVSA (Venezuela), Sasol (South Africa), Shell (Canada), and Statoil (Norway).
