Siemens: Network Management Software

Jan. 25, 2014
Sinema Server V12 network management software has been upgraded to monitor up to 500 client devices, twice as many as previous versions.

Each station can display the status of up to 100 other stations within the network for a total of 50,000 clients. The user interface has also been enhanced for higher adjustability to customer requirements and the integration into HMI devices and SCADA systems has been greatly improved. Connected components are automatically identified via Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and Profinet devices via Device Control Protocol (DCP). Users can edit, load and save device profiles. The software continuously monitors Ethernet and Profinet networks. All physical port level connections as well as machine or application specific network configurations are displayed, and any malfunction within the network is flagged for quick fault identification and removal. A diagnostics function provides and documents name, device type, serial number and product specific status configuration and identification data. Alarm threshold values for a specific device may be defined as well. The software supports Windows XP, Windows 7 (32/64 bit) and Windows Server 2008 R2. Users can choose from four display languages: English, German, French or Chinese.
