PAS, a human reliability software solutions provider, announced that TuneWizard, a control loop optimization software, is now available for free download and use. With TuneWizard, plant facilities in the power and process automation industries can tune their control loops to ensure they are performing as they should without any cost.
“Our TuneWizard software allows for organizations to effectively manage and optimize their PID control loops,” said Mark Carrigan, Vice President of Solutions at PAS, “they are the first line of defense in rejecting process disturbances and we believe that it should not be reserved for companies that can afford it.”
By utilizing the TuneWizard, plant facilities can identify the origins of poor control loop performance and facilitate how to remediate them. It also highlights control valve deficiencies, minimize time-consuming trial and error tuning, tune for long-term performance, balance control performance and robustness and also test new controller settings with simulations before applying changes to the real process.
“PAS providing TuneWizard for free to the industry is excellent,” said Jeff Strecker, Senior Process Control Engineer at HollyFrontier. “They are following the Google model of providing value-added tools for free that industry can significantly benefit from.”
