Recently, partner publication Control shared cybersecurity strategies for industrial automation, with insights from experts at ABB, Honeywell, Mission Secure and Phoenix Contact.

ABB's global chief digital officer, Rajesh Ramachandran, highlights the increasing cybersecurity challenges in the industrial world, emphasizing the need to secure internal operations, embed cybersecurity into products, and provide security services for users. He recommends implementing a zero-trust framework and using trust platform models, such as NIST's Cybersecurity Framework and the IEC/ISA 62443 standard, to secure communications and data.

Honeywell focuses on treating cybersecurity like other process functions, integrating anomaly-detection software into its control systems. Chief product officer Paul Griswold emphasizes assessing user networks, identifying vulnerabilities and addressing skill gaps through services like Advanced Monitoring and Incident Response.
