ServiceNow Expands Connected Worker Capabilities via Acquisitions

April 5, 2024
By acquiring 4Industry and EY’s Smart Daily Management application, ServiceNow adds to its digital workflow capabilities.

ServiceNow, a supplier of digital workflow technology, has signed an agreement to acquire 4Industry, a ServiceNow partner whose manufacturing technology application is built on the Now Platform. The company has also completed the acquisition of Smart Daily Management, a connected digital worker application from EY. According to ServiceNow, these acquisitions extend the company’s existing operations technology management capabilities for the manufacturing, energy and logistics industries.

With the pending acquisition of 4Industry, ServiceNow begins 4Industry’s mobile‑enabled application in-house to make shop floor work more intuitive and efficient. And with EY’s Smart Daily Management app, users can create more efficiency around time‑consuming tasks. ServiceNow said the technologies acquired from 4Industry and EY will be used to build a new Connected Worker offering on the ServiceNow platform. This new product is expected to be available in 2025.

ServiceNow plans to continue its work with EY and Plat4mation (an affiliated services company of 4Industry).

“Smart Daily Management was designed to transform the manufacturing function by coupling data‑driven insights and effective ways of working into the daily activities of operating teams,” said Hank Prybylski, EY global vice chair of transformation. “As the EY organization evolved the capabilities of Smart Daily Management, it became clear that integration into the ServiceNow platform would maximize the ability for customers to deploy and scale the value.”

The 4Industry and Smart Daily Management application acquisitions add to ServiceNow’s recent acquisitions of UltimateSuite, G2K, Atrinet’s NetACE technology and Element AI. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
