Streamline Hart Instrumentation Upgrade

March 5, 2011
Field Device Configurator (FDC) is a software application for the vendor’s MCToolkit handheld configurator device that allows operators to more easily configure and assess the health of Hart 5, 6 and 7 instrumentation.
The software and the configurator help streamline device management for manufacturers as they transition plant instrumentation from previous Hart versions to the most recent versions. The MCToolkit device simultaneously supports this new FDC software as well as previous software from the vendor for configuring units with DE protocol. Among other features, the FDC simplifies device management by letting operators customize their handheld device screen menus to quickly find and execute frequently performed tasks. A search feature allows quick return to a desired item, eliminating need to navigate through a menu structure is said to produce a typical 40% reduction in number of steps.Honeywell Process Solutions
