Analog Push-Button

May 15, 2009
Elobau Sensor Technology Inc. introduces its 145MA micro push button for various industrial applications.

This new control is based on Hall effect technology and provide a 0.5 to 4.5 Volts linear output proportional to the displacement of the actuator. It is designed to be incorporated in the knob of a joystick or a multifunctional handle for a shifter, or into a control panel. It provides an accurate proportional control of auxiliary functions. Typical applications might include vehicle uses such as control panel, armrest, shifter, single or dual axis joystick, or any control panel application on industrial equipment, remote control, mobile equipment, machine tools or other machinery.

The 145MA push-button from Elobau is only 27mm long, with a diameter of 16mm, and can be mounted through a Ø12mm hole.  Similar to other Elobau push-buttons, the 145MA has different standard colors available for the actuator cap, and can be customized to accommodate specific symbols. The 145MA features reliable non-contact Hall effect sensor technology.  A magnet moves along a Hall Effect sensor, located in the push-button housing.  The total stroke is 4mm, and provides a ratiometric output voltage between 0.5 and 4.5 VDC. Supply voltage is 4.5 to 5.5 VDC. The current drain is 15 mA max. The electrical connection is through 3 wires, with a standard length of 500mm.

The non-contact sensing technology ensures a longer service life, guaranteed to two million switching operations.  The 145MA push-button operates in a range from -40ºC to +85ºC (-13ºF to +175ºF).  The robust rubber boot provides a IP67 protection class above the mounting panel.

Elobau is a vertically integrated manufacturer that performs all circuit and cable assembly, plastic molding, assembly and full performance testing at its factories.  Thus, modifications to suit virtually all industrial and commercial requirements are achieved quickly and in a cost-effective manner, through the design and engineering talent resident at Elobau.

Interested parties should contact Elobau for full details on these and other controls, sensors and machine safety products.
