Software passes Class B conformance tests

March 23, 2009
The company announces its protocol software conforms to every PROFINET I/O Class B certification level.
Designed for controllers, supervisors and devices, the scalable protocol stacks feature media redundancy, fast startup and topology recognition. The protocol software is one of the first non-Siemens protocol stack implementations to achieve PROFINET I/O Class B certification, the company adds. The protocol software utilizes a FPGA (cyclone III by Altera) evaluation board that is tested by the PTO for use in its standardized test environment. PTO’s test lab procedure’s purpose is to implement a conformance test plan to verify correct implementation of all features and function, and is required to demonstrate interoperability with other PROFINET devices.
