The RS416P Serial Device Server and the RX1000P Network Router both support Power over Ethernet (PoE).
PoE functionality provides the ability to transmit electrical power, along with data, to remote devices over standard twisted-pair cable in an Ethernet network, potentially reducing installation and cable run costs, and permitting quicker and less disruptive installations of powered devices. The RS416P and the RX1000P are compliant with the IEEE 802.af PoE standard, making them compatible with any 802.3af powered device. The PoE ports are also “auto-sensing,” providing power only when a PoE enabled end-device is present.
