Ethernet Line Adds POE

May 8, 2008
The 100 Series family of industrially hardened entry-level Ethernet products has been enhanced to include Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability.

Designated iPOE, these products combine 2 million hour MTBF, an operating temperature range of -40ºC to 85ºC, Redundant Power Inputs, shock resistance, ESD protection and RFI immunity into a high performance Ethernet Power Sourcing tool. Three devices are offered: the 100-POE4 Midspan Power Injector, the 105TX-POE Ethernet switch with five copper RJ45 ports, and the 105FXPOE Ethernet switch with 4 copper RJ45 ports and one Fiber Optic 100Base uplink port. These products can be used to provide power to video cameras, wireless access points, access control devices such as card readers and other devices located in areas where power is not readily accessible. Each port is capable of providing 15.4 watts of power, the maximum allowable under the IEEE 802.3af specification.
