The NI 1722 and NI 1742 Smart Cameras combine an industrial controller with an image sensor, and integrate with the vendor’s vision software to offer image processing directly on the cameras, making them suitable for applications such as part locating, packaging inspection, verifying assembly and reading 1D and 2D codes.
The cameras are shipped with the vendor’s Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (AI), an interactive software environment for configuring and deploying machine vision applications without programming. With its intuitive, menu-driven software, engineers can build complex vision applications incorporating not only vision algorithms but also state-based execution with looping and branching. For more advanced applications, the cameras also integrate with the vendor’s LabView software and full library of image processing and machine vision algorithms.
