Resilient Mini Bearings

March 6, 2008
High-performance plastic bearings are being used more and more in applications, because the bearings are dry running and maintenance-free.

They do not require a seal, even in dirty environments, and they are corrosion-resistant in liquids and chemicals. These mini plain bearings, part of the company’s line of spherical bearings, feature a wall thickness of only 3mm. The bearing housing and independently moving spherical ball are made of the company’s own reinforced polymer. The housing and spherical ball liner absorb vibrations differently than steel: the rotational, swiveling and oscillating movements of the self-supporting shaft take place within the spherical cap, which has a dampening effect.
