Specialized Retroreflective Photoelectric Sensor

June 13, 2007
With both discrete and analog outputs, the BOL 27K retroreflective photoelectric sensor projects a measuring line of light on to a strip of special reflective tape, which it uses to measure and locate key attributes of an object.
The BOL 27K operates in three basic modes. Edge position mode detects the position of an object passing over the tape; center positioning mode detects the center of an object independent of the object’s width; width detection mode provides the distance between the two edges of an object or a group of objects such as stacks of blister packs. The 0.15 mm resolution precision of the sensor makes it well-suited for error proofing, sheet feed control, web control, and a range of packaging tasks.Balluff Inc.
