Osman Ahmed, recently named one of Siemens’ top 12 inventors for 2004, is a senior principal engineer for Siemens Building Technologies Inc., Buffalo Grove, Ill.
Born and raised in India, Ahmed earned an undergraduate degree in engineering at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, a master’s degree from the University of Windsor (Canada) and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Since joining Siemens in 1988, he has filed applications for 11 patents in the building controls field, including four for his recent work in MicroElectroMechanical Systems.
