Inverter Ready Motors

June 1, 2003
The line of Super-E high efficiency motors now carries the term “inverter ready.” Super-E 1 HP and larger 230V and 460V motors meet the corona inception voltage requirements on NEMA MG1, Part 31.4.4.2 when used with inverters.

The motors, with improved insulation materials, can withstand peak voltages up to 1600V. The efficiency level of 125 individual Super-E ratings has been raised, and some now exceed 96 percent. The improved Super-E efficiencies meet or exceed the rebate levels established by the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) and followed by most electric utilities.
