Detect Minor Color Deviations

June 1, 2003
The SpectroCam is a color machine vision sensor that uses a built-in spectrophotometer for applications in which small color variations are critical—such as an automobile door for which one model may have several variations of white.

The SpectroCam’s built-in “Spectrograph” splits the incoming light into its constituent wavelengths along the X axis and spatially along the Y axis. This enables the complete 380nm-to-900nm spectrum of the sample to be measured and small deviations detected. The peak location of the spectrum can also be monitored for LED quality control.
