Ethernet-based Sercos III Controller for Motion

Nov. 1, 2011
PacDrive™ 3 is a Sercos III-based motion controller for multi-axes coordinated motion solutions and the latest addition to the company’s MachineStruxure line of automation solutions for machine builders.
The PacDrive 3 unifies PLC, motion and robotics control functionality on a single hardware platform. With Sercos III, the logic motion controller enables communication with both drives and field devices, while integrating safety functionality. Performance is optimized for between 4 to 99 servo axes or up to 30 robots, and the system supports a variety of kinematic configurations. Centralized system architecture makes it appropriate for controlling packaging and converting machinery. Pluggable interconnects and a quick-connect front-side bus also reduce installation costs. SoMachine™ Motion, the new software development environment, consolidates tools for program development, HMI applications, motion and drive train design, and data. The PacDrive 3 also conforms to the IEC 61131-3 standards and is compliant with the OMAC and Weihenstephan Standard.Schneider Electricwww.schneider-electric.com/uswww.elau.com/pacdrive3
