ISA-95 defines key data flows between the enterprise and manufacturing control—ISA-95 Parts 1 and 2.
The enterprise information level, level 4, includes business planning and logistics, scheduling and operational management, with a time continuum from months down through weeks and days, to shifts. The manufacturing control level, level 3, includes detailed scheduling, recipe control—everything that’s needed for the processes taken through to end products. Time continuum here is from shifts, to hours and minutes, down to seconds.
