Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, introduces the FB Series Bellows Valves, a new product designed for instrumentation applications requiring higher temperatures and pressures in the power industry.
Developed by the Parker Instrumentation Products Division, the FB Series Bellows Valve is an externally pressurized bellows. The bellows seal affords the product its high-integrity atmospheric sealing capability and features a pressure rating of 2500 psig (414 bar) CWP (cold working pressure).
The FB Series Bellows Valves offer a number of other features and benefits. A secondary packing system acts as a backup seal above the primary bellows seal, which is available in a choice of Grafoil® or PTFE. The Grafoil packing features temperature ratings from -65° F to 1000° F (-54° C to 538° C), and the PTFE packing ratings range from -65° F to 450° F (-54° C to 232° C).
“The FB Series Bellows Valve design was the result of an industry demand for a bellows valve that would offer a longer cycle life and higher pressures, which we accomplished with the externally pressurized bellows seal,” said Kevin Burke, Parker IPD Marketing Manager.
A non-rotating stem tip assures increased valve life by removing rotation from the seat area. Stem swivel and power threads are located above the primary seal, keeping the thread lubricant isolated from the media.
With a 316 stainless steel construction, the FB Series Bellows Valves are available in a welded or gasketed valve body to bellows sealing. Stem tip configurations include a choice of blunt or regulating. A-LOK® (double ferrule design) and CPI (single ferrule design) tube compression ports are offered in 1/4”, 3/8”, or 1/2” fractional sizes at this time. These valves are panel-mountable and 100 percent factory tested.
