IGear releases Data Transport Utility (DTU) v7.0 enabling Enterprise Manufacturing Integration

The DTU is a comprehensive connectivity and data movement platform which is enabling a growing community of global manufacturing companies to improve their operational efficiency  and agility by integrating real-time information across a diverse set of technologies including plant floor machines, tools, robots, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, scanners, and a myriad of other manufacturing device technologies along with the software systems used for manufacturing execution (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP).  Critical manufacturing business solutions commonly built upon a Data Transport Utility foundation include production tracking and traceability, process error proofing, plant floor ERP and MES integration, and asset efficiency monitoring and event notification.

IGear's DTU is comprised of three essential components; the processing Engine, DataLinks, and the Management Console.  The processing Engine provides powerful rules-based data triggering, advanced data queuing, and flexible data scripting.  DataLinks facilitate connections to a large variety of technologies using both open and native protocols.  Within DataLinks, users create Input and Output Commands to transfer data to and from the processing Engine.  The Management Console serves as the user interface that offers configuration wizards for DataLinks and Commands along with access to statistics, audit logs, and configuration details.

The version 7.0 update provides native 32 and 64 bit support, is optimized for multiple processers/cores, enhances data scripting capabilities, increases availability by enabling DataLinks to be added or updated without restarting the processing Engine, offers improved copy/paste functionality, includes over twenty standard DataLinks, and may be licensed for plant-wide or enterprise-wide deployment.
