New Series of Industrial Computers

The new Series D InTouch Panel PC offers consistent plant intelligence via tight integration to the Wonderware Software portfolio, extensive plant communications capabilities, and award-winning support services.

In line with the industry trend toward greater use of open systems, Wonderware is introducing a new series of its InTouch Panel PCs, which are open and fully functional PC-based industrial computers. Designed to replace legacy, proprietary, stand-alone hardware terminals, the new, ruggedized for harsh environments Series D industrial computers are pre-installed with Wonderware InTouch HMI software to enable standardization on one common visualization interface for machine level applications and supervisory Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications. Standardization allows IT departments to reduce the time they spend on software administration and management.

By combining a fully functioning industrial computer with Wonderware HMI software in the Series D InTouch Panel PCs, users can reduce their exposure to problems associated with integrating disparate machine-control and supervisory systems. With both systems running the same InTouch HMI software, there’s no need for training on different types of HMI software, thereby lowering software administration and management costs. Plus, since these computers are solid state and use fanless cooling, there are no moving parts to break in this product line.

Because returning an automation system back into service quickly is important to maintaining KPIs and production quotas, the modular construction and tool-less component removal of the new InTouch Panel PCs makes modifications and servicing in the field easier, which benefits resellers and original equipment manufacturer machine builders as well as manufacturing and infrastructure operations due to the reduced need for spare parts inventories and lead times. Onboard disaster recovery drive with Acronis True Image ensures that no data is lost due to any production or machine incidents.

This new series of InTouch Panel PCs comes in a range of sizes from the small footprint InTouch Machine Edition machine level HMI software to whole plant supervisory visualization solutions with InTouch and InTouch for System Platform.

Organizations can also reduce costs with the use of InTouch Panel PCs by expanding the use of Wonderware HMI software throughout their organization. Engineers and operators already familiar with the InTouch HMI can leverage their experience, engineering investment, and training across the entire range of Wonderware InTouch Panel PCs.

Wonderware Industrial Computers offer increased efficiency and cost savings in:

• Application development hardware;

• Software integration;

• Implementation;

• Operator training;

• Software administration; and

• Maintenance.
