Here are a few of the other products sure to grab your attention at the NORD booth:
Maximize your output with MAXXDRIVE
If you’re familiar with our MAXXDRIVETM series of industrial gear units, you’ll be pleased to hear we’ve added two more models to our already extensive lineup. With torque ratings of 11,000 ft/lbs. (15 kNm) and 14,700 ft/lbs. (20kNm) respectively, both are available with a new extruder flange option (as are many of the other units in this series). Other benefits include a keyed and press-fit gear mounting system for maximum strength, leak-proof lubrication regardless of shaft orientation, a common-size, symmetrical housing design that provides for mirror image installations, various temperature management options, and a design that’s been proven through extensive finite element analysis (FEA) validation.
Get torqued: Need a high torque gear motor that can operate in virtually any industrial environment? NORD’s line of compact, helical bevel geared motors are available with cast iron or aluminum alloy UNICASE housings (the latter available with our proprietary nsd tupH surface-treatment for extreme protection), a wide range of flange offerings, and eleven sizes, the largest able to transmit up to 5,360 HP and 183,000 ft/lbs. (250 kNm) of torque. They’re ideal for mixers, conveyor belts, mills, and other demanding applications where long service life and flexible mounting options are required.
No more belts: Anyone responsible for conveyor maintenance would be happy to get rid of the belts and pulleys used by traditional systems. Unfortunately, most screw type conveyor drives are too bulky for this. Not anymore. NORD’s Screw Conveyor Package (SCP) offers a compact design that simplifies installation and maintenance of any conveyor. Its QUADRILIPTM sealing system boasts primary and secondary Viton seals, a dust lip around the output shaft, and a grease packed felt seal for additional protection against contaminants. As with any NORD drive unit, a number of mounting orientationptions are available (six, in this case, as well as the option to tilt the unit at an angle), and its modular design provides tremendous flexibility in the field. This means fewer parts, greater efficiency, lower costs, and less hassle.
Looking up: The SK9055 and SK9155 are two additional game-changing overhead conveyor drive solutions. Both are gear-driven and boast a leak-proof, dry cavity design that eliminates concerns over contamination. NORD’s standard VL3 wide spread bearing design provides excellent stability and up to 3,000 lbs. or 6,000 lbs. of thrust, plenty of power to drive the most heavily-loaded conveyor. An industry standard mounting flange makes it easy to replace your legacy conveyor drive with one of these reliable performers, boasting 95-percent efficiency year after year, load after load.
Flexing your muscles: Even if you don’t need a frequency inverter, you’re sure to enjoy the energy
savings gained by installing one. And for those who are looking for the scalability and flexibility of a decentralized vector drive unit, look no further than the NORDAC FLEX SK 200E. It provides 4-quadrant operation, integrated POSICON position control and synchronization modes, EEPROM-based parameterized installation and maintenance functionality, and integrated safety and braking capabilities. Together with the new NORDAC START SK135E electronic starter, which provides soft start, wear-free operation, motor control has never been so easy.
These are just a few of the many solutions you’ll see at the NORD booth, each offering the flexibility and ease-of-use important to those serving the grain industry. Please stop by for a chat. We’d love to show you ways to manage your equipment more efficiently, cost-effectively, and safely.
