MatrikonOPC announced at the 2008 Emerson Exchange on October 1, that Stratus Technologies has chosen to partner with MatrikonOPC to complement Stratus’ ability to offer continuous availability of plant applications data. MatrikonOPC now offers complete SNMP [simple network monitoring protocol] monitoring of the Stratus ftServer, as well as securely exposing data to a wide variety of other OPC diagnostic tools.
“Matrikon and Stratus already have many joint customers using the Stratus ftServer to provide continuous availability. The market brought our companies together and we recognized that leveraging MatrikonOPC technology would enhance the value of ftServer platform for our manufacturing customers. Now with MatrikonOPC tools customers can access the rich diagnostic data of the ftServer platform that can be used in other plant applications like HMIs,” said Frank Hill, director, Worldwide Manufacturing Sales at Stratus Technologies.
