Controllers: Process/Temperature Control

July 31, 2011
With four control modes, including a PID autotune function, along with four output options and 17 alarm types, AutomationDirect’s Solo process/temperature controllers can be used in a variety of industrial and commercial applications.

When it comes to the core control modules used to manage a production process or specific machines, application flexibility and ease of operation are key considerations. AutomationDirect’s 24 V dc-powered Solo series process/temperature controllers are designed for controlling a variety of temperature management applications, including simultaneous heating and cooling. These single loop controllers can accept various types of thermocouple, RTD, or analog inputs, are available in four standard DIN sizes and feature a dual four-digit, seven-segment display, along with dual output control. The controllers offer four mode functions: PID, On/Off, Ramp/Soak and Manual. Depending upon the model of controller, available outputs include relay, voltage pulse, current, and linear voltage as well as up to three alarm outputs. Seventeen alarm types can be selected from in the initial setting mode. The Solo controllers have a built-in RS-485 interface using the Modbus slave (ASCII or RTU) communication protocol.
