Patrick Gouhin will join the Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society in January, following 15 years with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

The Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society (ISA) has announced the hiring of Patrick Gouhin as the Society’s new executive director.

Gouhin, who will join ISA on Jan. 3, comes to his new position from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), where he is currently chief operating officer. In his 15 years at the AIAA, he was responsible for developing organizational strategies, launching numerous new ventures, enhancing the effectiveness of publishing and training programs, and conceiving strategic marketing and communications programs, according to an ISA press release.

Says ISA President Don Zee, “Pat’s experience and aptitude make him an excellent choice to help our organization in this exciting period of renewal. We are confident in his ability to work with our leadership, members, customers and staff to lead ISA in setting the standard for automation.”

Gouhin has a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from The Ohio State University, and a master’s degree in engineering management from George Washington University. Gouhin will replace Rob Renner, whose resignation as ISA executive director after a 12-month tenure was announced last May.
