Metso has signed a partnership agreement with the Slovakian ProCS, s.r.o. to strengthen its power automation business in the Slovak Republic and elsewhere in the Central-East European region. ProCS, established in 1992, is an engineering company that provides services and solutions in the area of industrial automation, measurement and control.

The Central-East European power industry is investing heavily in green field biomass-fired mill projects and automation retrofits, and benefits from Metso's automation technologies which enable power producers to control their plants better, to lower emissions, speed up startups and decrease unpredictable shutdowns, among others. With 85 years of experience in the power industry, Metso has a strong track record of delivering 4,500 distributed control systems worldwide.

"I am happy to welcome ProCS to our global partner network," comments Harri Happonen, Director, Partner Business, Energy and Process Systems, Metso. "ProCS is an active company under the strong, hands-on leadership of its founders. It has good connections and references in Slovakia and other countries through its parent company VINCI Energies."

"We feel that together we can do more and believe also that our customers will appreciate the partnership between Metso, a strong technology company, and ProCS, a local engineering company," adds Štefan Bartošovic, General Manager of ProCS.

ProCS, s.r.o., has extensive experience in the chemical, petrochemical and power industries, and close to 100 employees. In 2007, ProCS became part of the VINCI Energies Actemium network, which is a rapidly expanding European integrator in electrical energy, industrial automation, data processing, instrumentation and mechanics. www.procs.sk, www.actemium.com
