TÜV Rheinland Industry Service is now approved by DAkkS, the German accreditation body, as an inspection body according to the international standard EN/ISO/IEC 17020. “With this accreditation, DAkkS has confirmed our competence in the non-statutory inspection and quality assurance business,” said Bruno Kuckartz, the head of division energy systems and automation at TÜV Rheinland Industry Service. “We were able to successfully demonstrate that we offer a consistent level of quality with our testing services for constructors, manufacturers and operators of plants, systems and components.” The accreditation as inspection body for plants, systems and components applies to supply chain and QA/QC services for constructors/ manufacturers, to the assembly of industrial plants, to nuclear facilities, to automation and functional safety, as well as to pipeline technology. For TÜV Rheinland Industry Service this rounds off its accreditation spectrum for the international inspection business.
The international standard DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012-07 “Conformity assessment - requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection” outlines the competence and impartiality required of inspection bodies and a consistent level of quality for inspection work. Its objective is to promote trust in the accredited inspection body. The norm applies to all inspection stages, including for example design type examination, initial inspection, and the operational testing of technical plant and equipment.
