PI North America Revamps Website, Emphasizes Marketing Direction

Re-think emphasizes Profinet, retains previous best elements and is “device responsive”.

PI North America (www.us.profinet.com), the home of Profibus and Profinet in the USA and Canada, has launched a completely new web site as part of its marketing strategy for 2013.

PI North America Technical Marketing Director Michael Bowne says: “We are rolling out some exciting marketing ideas in the coming months with particular emphasis on Profinet, our Industrial Ethernet networking solution for automation. We took a close look at our web presence and decided that this would also be the ideal moment to make substantial improvements. As well as the new web address we have used a completely fresh graphical presentation that puts the most popular items right in front of the reader and makes for much easier navigation. We are excited by this approach and believe it will go a long way towards making Profinet much more accessible to our North American automation audience.”

The new site is ‘device responsive’, which means that visitors get a consistent viewing experience when using common reading devices such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

Bowne adds: “Anyone looking for rapid ways into Profinet and Profibus will find everything they need right at their fingertips, including technical material, resources, documentation and so on. Our free training and Certified Engineer classes are listed, with simple registration for any of the 30 or so events planned for 2013. There’s a full listing of North American members plus their news stories and a new product finder is under development. Profinet case studies will also feature strongly through the year.”

PI North America’s other marketing plans for 2013 includes a series of advertisements featuring Profinet in action. The “PROFINEWS” newsletter will be published monthly, doubling the number of issues from 2012. "We’ve recently had notable successes with Profinet in North America, especially in the automotive industries” says Bowne, “but we've tended to keep them hidden. In 2013 we want to make everybody aware that Profinet is not only the leading Industrial Ethernet in the world but also that North America has become its second largest market."
