New $6M Manufacturing Facility to Open in Kansas City Region

E.C. Manufacturing is affiliated with Heatron, a Kansas-based company specializing in thermal management and heating element design. The startup will produce advanced electrical components from its headquarters in Shawnee, Kansas.


The Kansas City Area Development Council joined the Kansas Department of Commerce in announcing that E.C. Manufacturing will open its manufacturing facility and headquarters at 23501 W. 84 Street, approximately 20 miles southwest of downtown Kansas City, Mo.  There, the company is expected to create 252 new jobs over the next three years and make an estimated capital investment of more than $6 million.  E.C. Manufacturing will produce advanced, small electrical components.
 
“It's great to begin the year with a significant number of advanced manufacturing jobs completely new to our region, and we’re thrilled to see these jobs locate here and not overseas,” said Bob Marcusse, president and CEO, Kansas City Area Development Council.  “We congratulate E.C Manufacturing, the city of Shawnee and the state of Kansas on this good news.”
 
E.C. Manufacturing is affiliated with Heatron, a Kansas-based company specializing in thermal management and heating element design and solutions, as well as LED Integration.  The company selected the Kansas City region after considering other markets along the East Coast.
 
“It’s always exciting to see new businesses open their doors, and it’s even more exciting when they choose to do so in Kansas,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “E.C. Manufacturing will create a lot of new jobs in the state, helping the continued growth of the Kansas economy.”

The Kansas City Area Development Council and the Kansas Department of Commerce worked together with the Shawnee Economic Development Council, the City of Shawnee, Jones Lang LaSalle, Westar Energy, Inc., Kansas City SmartPort and Zimmer Real Estate Services, L.C. to bring E.C. Manufacturing to the Kansas City area.
