Kollmorgen introduces E-learning – a suite of educational and technically substantive automation and motion control training resources designed to help OEMs design and build superior performing machines, at their pace and on their schedule. These include self-paced Learning Modules with an interactive learn-on-demand focus, Blended Courses that combine self-paced learning with live online interaction with instructors and other students, and In-Work Learning that utilizes quick, concise “guide me” lessons and how-to videos.

“People have different learning styles which is why we offer a wide range of training methods to help our customers solve even the toughest applications, even if they don’t have the time to dedicate to classroom training,” says Bob White, Manager of Training and Digital Services. “With this in mind, we’ve built a number of interactive online modules for self-paced learning, many of which include fun activities and self-help quizzes, as well as branching activities that let students go down the wrong path to help them learn from mistakes made. Our newest online course – AKD BASIC – even leads students through a series of exercises that culminates in a real world project of their own, with instructor feedback along the way.”

Kollmorgen also offers traditional classroom training, with workshops that are all about hands-on access – and not just the typical pre-defined demo unit. Kollmorgen workshops deliver a depth of experience and understanding unique to hands-on learning opportunities, challenging students to build a working system from the ground up starting with the drives, backplanes, wires, cables, contactors and other components. Students are further challenged to troubleshoot their system after it has been tinkered with by an instructor.

Students can sign up for online and classroom-based courses by clicking here. For OEMs interested in training sessions on more narrowly focused topics, customized courses are also available. Kollmorgen’s complete video and technical white paper library, along with a searchable Knowledge Base is available here
