With the recent growing readership of Healthcare Packaging, its companion website and e-books, Summit Media Group has added its first full-time editor dedicated exclusively to the media brand, which covers the life science packaging and logistics marketplace. Former Editor-in-Chief of B2B publication Pet Age, Michelle Maskaly, joins Summit Media Group as Director of Editorial Content for Healthcare Packaging.

Maskaly will head up a team that includes Editor Jim Butschli and Associate Publisher Liz Tierney, bringing with her over a decade of experience as both a journalist and manager. She has an extensive background in both traditional and digital media companies, having worked for Fox News Channel, Gannett Company newspapers, and Bloomberg New York among others. At Bloomberg, Maskaly served as a Community Manager and Social Media Program Manager, giving her expertise in content strategy and all things social.

Maskaly received her undergraduate degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey, with a dual degree in Communications and Political Science.

Summit VP and Publisher of Healthcare Packaging, Jim Chrzan is excited for Maskaly to come on board. He commented, “Michelle’s wealth of media experience made her a natural fit for this position, and I know she’ll be an asset to Healthcare Packaging and Summit Media Group as a whole.” In addition to overall strategy for Healthcare Packaging, Maskaly will cover domestic and international events, orchestrate Web and print content, and conduct industry and reader research, to help grow the brand to a new level.
