The new ABB LV Drives Performance Service, powered by ABB ServicePort, optimizes customer equipment and process performance by monitoring low-voltage drives, identifying potential issues, and sending instant alerts for service support when site-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) track outside pre-determined parameters.

“This new service gives customers and ABB service people the information needed to diagnose and improve LV drives performance,” said Tarun Mathur, Global Service Product Manager. “The LV Drives Performance Service evaluates KPIs over extended periods, so users can evaluate trends that may indicate issues to address. Data can be stored and retrieved later to analyze and improve performance.”

ABB LV Drives Performance Service is a monitoring and diagnostic service that tracks the health and performance of low-voltage drives. To improve drives availability, the service automatically collects and analyzes essential data — including motor current, motor temperature, speed error and DC voltage — and calculates configurable KPIs that measure electrical, temperature and motion drive characteristics for specified time periods, so that customers and ABB service people can identify and address issues.

LV Drives Performance Service is the latest remote-enabled Performance Service facilitated through the ABB ServicePort, a secure service delivery platform that allows users to view, scan and track KPIs to ensure maximum performance of equipment and processes. By automatically collecting, analyzing and monitoring KPIs, ServicePort helps customers and ABB service people to make more informed decisions faster, resulting in improved availability, process speed and product quality.

Performance services powered by the ABB ServicePort include: Cyber Security; Control Loop Performance; Harmony Distributed Control System; LV Drives; Mine Hoist; Quality Control Systems; and System 800xA. All are available as a subscription service hosted by ServicePort, and all are also available as independent, manual services should a customer wish to not utilize the power of ServicePort.
