Héctor J. Altuve Ferrer, SEL Distinguished Engineer and Dean of SEL University, has been named an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Fellow for contributions to power line and transformer protection.

Dr. Altuve has made significant contributions to both advancing and disseminating power system protection knowledge. He has developed new algorithms for power line and transformer protection and has greatly contributed to the industry and society by explaining modern protection technology via technical publications and courses.

An esteemed author and patent holder, Dr. Altuve has served as editor for SEL’sModern Solutions book series.
