These (smart) shoe are made for walking… and warming, tracking and lighting.
Remember when you were impressed with Reebok Pumps in the early 90s? Just me? Well Digitsole unveiled its smart shoe at CES 2016 with a whole lot more than inflation/deflation technology.
While it may not be the world’s sleekest footwear, the fully loaded shoe comes with built in foot-warmers, step-tracking technology, a frontlight, and shock detection. The company has taken the standard wearable connectivity (sending data to the app) a step further, allowing the app to control the shoe’s properties as well.
The shoe is set to be available in October 2016, just in time for snowy walks to and from work.
That relative who used to walk 15 miles in the snow uphill—both ways!—may scoff, but I’m a California girl, so it sounds like a good idea to me.
