Automating Wine Delivery

June 29, 2016

Forget the steps to the wine cellar, the Cave Bar spins into your dining space.

What’s better than having a fully stocked wine cellar in your home? Having a wine cellar that rises to the occasion, delivering your favorite fermented grapes to you. This is the stuff that dreams are made of. Well, my dreams anyway.

The Cave Bar, from Polycave, is a sealed vessel mounted on a hydraulic cylinder that is hidden underground, keeping your wine at just the right temperature. When you are ready to imbibe, a simple push of the electrical control automatically brings the wine cellar into your entertainment space to become a table where you can sip and enjoy a balanced blend of Bordeaux.

Starting at about $9,400, it does require some deep pockets to dig this into your dining infrastructure. But, this hidden gem is durable (it won’t break if you stand on it), practical, and in my opinion, just beautiful.
