Emerson and Fluenta Improve Flare Gas Efficiency, Compliance

Nov. 16, 2017
Combined ultrasonic portfolio and proper flare gas meter consulting yields significant operational efficiencies through optimized energy usage, gas capturing and reuse, and accurate emissions reporting

Emerson and Fluenta are collaborating to provide ultrasonic flare gas measurement solutions for the oil and gas and chemical industries to improve energy efficiency and comply with increasing regulations across the globe to measure, monitor, and report flare gas emissions.

This collaboration enables Emerson to better serve its customers through a single supplier agreement to provide the most comprehensive flow solutions to address the toughest challenges. In conjunction with Fluenta, Emerson is now able to offer customers a full suite of ultrasonic fiscal meters for custody transfer and flare gas metering applications.

To better comply with these environmental regulations and optimize energy usage, customers are seeking advanced flare gas monitoring and energy management solutions. Emerson’s broad flow metering portfolio combined with Fluenta’s flare gas metering product line enables customers to control mass balance, monitor CO2, detect abnormal process changes to prevent leakage, and limit excessive steam consumption for smokeless flaring.

“Ultrasonic metering is the most proven, robust technology for meeting the measurement challenges and regulatory requirements in flare gas applications. We are pleased to be working with Fluenta to provide our clients with the most appropriate flow solution technology early in their project cycle to assist them in achieving top quartile performance through streamlined, cost effective project execution,” says Rob Sedlak, general manager of Daniel flow products, Emerson Automation Solutions.

“Fluenta will partner with Emerson to provide ultrasonic flare gas measurement to the oil, gas and chemical processing industries,” said Tom Pugliese, vice president-Americas at Fluenta. “Fluenta ultrasonic flare gas meters complement the Emerson portfolio, allowing them to provide their customers with a complete process control and measurement solution. Accurate measurement of flare gas emissions is becoming an increasingly important issue in process industries and Fluenta can offer a flexible solution to meet the industries’ needs.”
