Advantech is pleased to announce its USB-5800 series of isolated digital I/O modules with Super Speed USB 3.0 capabilities.

Advantech is pleased to announce its USB-5800 series of isolated digital I/O modules with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 capabilities. Advantech’s USB-5800 modules are aimed at diverse industrial control applications that require easy-to-install portable digital I/O capabilities, particularly for systems without PCI/PCIe slots. Featuring SuperSpeed USB 3.0 capabilities, USB-5800 series I/O modules provide high data transfer speeds (up to 5 Gbps), extend the system I/O functions, and support daisy chaining for easy I/O expansion. The front-facing LED indicators, ID switch, and terminal blocks provide convenient access for easy installation and maintenance. To prevent sudden failures or disconnection, the USB-5800 series modules also feature exclusive Auto Recovery® technology to ensure zero failures. Moreover, the inclusion of surge protection ensures stable operation even in high surge environments, making the modules ideal for a wide range of industrial applications. Furthermore, to ensure easy deployment and integration with existing systems, the USB-5800 modules support numerous development tools, including C#, C++, LabVIEW, VB.Net, MFC, BCB, VB6, Java, Delphi, and Qt, and are compatible with Windows XP/7/8/10 and Linux operating systems.

SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Capabilities for High-Performance Computing
Advantech’s USB-5800 series I/O modules are the industry’s first USB product to feature SuperSpeed USB 3.0 technology. Compared to USB 2.0, USB-5800 modules with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 offer 8 times faster response times with data transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps.

Highly Expandable Modules Support Daisy Chaining for Reduced Costs
USB-5800 series modules support daisy chaining of up to five modules, which eliminates the need to adopt a USB hub to expand the system I/O. Instead, users can simply daisy chain additional USB-5800 modules onto the original module without occupying more than one of the system’s USB ports. Therefore, Advantech’s USB-5800 modules not only allow for easy and convenient expansion, but also reduce overall costs by streamlining infrastructure.

Robust Design with Auto Recovery® Technology for Industrial Applications
To avoid sudden failures or disconnection, the USB-5800 series modules are equipped with Advantech’s exclusive Auto Recovery® technology for dealing with unexpected errors and minimizing the overall failure rate. Moreover, the robust design features Level 3 electrostatic discharge and surge protection to ensure stable operation in highly volatile environments, making them ideal for a wide range of industrial applications.
