Matrox Rapixo CXP Series of Frame Grabbers Expands to Include Single- and Dual-Connection Options

June 26, 2019
Matrox Imaging releases two new entry-level models, providing the broadest CoaXPress 2.0 frame grabber lineup on the market

Matrox® Imaging today announces the expansion of their Matrox Rapixo CXP series of frame grabbers, which now count versions with one and two connections to complement the original version with four connections. Each of these frame grabbers supports the highest speeds in CoaXPress® (CXP) 2.0—namely the CXP-12 mode—for high-end machine vision applications. This series of frame grabbers is the most extensive CXP 2.0 lineup available in the machine vision market.

Greater and faster delivery with CXP 2.0 standard
The major feature of the CXP 2.0 standard is the increased data rate; now up to 12.5 Gbps. The doubled bandwidth per connection is thoroughly ready for the new generation of high-resolution high-rate image sensors.

Right-sized connectivity
Featuring either one or two connections, Matrox Rapixo CXP single and dual boards can interface with either one or two CXP 2.0-compliant cameras; the dual board can likewise accommodate higher data rates through connection aggregation. The boards support Power-over-CoaXPress (PoCXP), simplifying system setup by having power delivered over one of the coaxial cables.

A quad-connection version—the Matrox Rapixo CXP quad—is likewise available.

Supported by Matrox Imaging Library software

Applications using the Matrox Rapixo CXP series are programmed using the latest Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) software development kit (SDK) and can target either 64-bit Windows® or Linux®.

“With the addition of these two new models to the Matrox Rapixo CXP series, Matrox Imaging is fully established as the market’s leading provider of CXP 2.0 frame grabbers,” says Mathieu Larouche, product manager, Matrox Imaging. “The availability of single, dual, and quad board models ensure that—whatever the necessary number of connections—there is an optimal solution to match in terms of capability and price.”
