The MIPP offers greater system reliability and ease of installation between Belden cables and Hirschmann switches. Its design is similar to the Hirschmann range of products. Using patchcords to connect to active equipment, cables can be terminated outside the cabinet in an organized and structured manner to ensure the highest level of reliability. Installation is quick and easy, saving time and reducing set-up costs. With a lightweight aluminum structure that increases its overall versatility, the MIPP mounts on a DIN Rail or on the sides of cabinets using a wall mount plate. The small housing, high port density and modularity reportedly keep cabinet space needs to a minimum.Frank Wei, director of marketing for Hirschmann said, "The MIPP is a completely new solution that combines copper and fiber, an industry first." The MIPP was designed for a wide range of industrial applications requiring maximum system reliability and flexibility, including machine building, transportation, alternative power generation, power transportation and distribution and oil and gas markets. The MIPP is available as both single and double modules. Up to six individual modules to be combined in any permutation to create a large single patch panel where fiber and copper cables can be connected at the same time. When required, each module can be removed or replaced for maximum system flexibility.
