This safety certification is becoming a mandatory requirement for field instrumentation devices in many applications around the world, and will enable GE to offer its customers a broader range of critical and safety applications.
The Masoneilan 12400 Series Digital Level Transmitter is a two-wire, loop-powered device with Hart communication that offers increased plant safety through advanced diagnostics coverage. It enables more accurate preventive maintenance, to reduce costs and increase uptime.
The SIL certification is not limited to the instrument head but includes all measurement components. The transmitter offers a high safety failure fraction of 91 percent and features a new, patented sensor bias system to enable additional device diagnostics. Among torque tube-type level instruments, this is the first device to combine level measurements and low-and high-level switch function.
The Masoneilan 12400 Series Digital Level Transmitter is part of the product portfolio of GE Measurement & Control, a leading innovator in sensor-based measurement, inspection, asset condition monitoring, controls and radiation measurement solutions that deliver accuracy, productivity and safety to customers in a wide range of industries, including oil & gas, power generation, aerospace, transportation and healthcare. The business is part of GE Oil & Gas and has more than 40 facilities in 25 countries worldwide.
