Weidmuller introduces their new universal conversion/migration platform for updating legacy DCS systems to any new control system. Their uniquely designed solution permits existing field wiring to remain in place and undisturbed on the front panel adaptor, eliminating the need to wire-trace or ring-out. This reduces the DCS conversion time from weeks to just hours and helps provide a substantial cost savings.

The Weidmuller platform is a universal solution for all legacy Honeywell IPC-620 DCS systems and uses a minimal number of components. It includes just two versions of a card adaptor, 12- and 22-points, with a connecting cable of either flying leads or pre-wired field connectors. All the components are plug-and-play with keyed connectors to eliminate any chance of wiring errors.

“With so many old and unsupported DCS systems installed in heavy process applications, we saw a critical need for a quick and simple way for engineers to upgrade or convert to new modern control systems”, said Bruce Hofmann, Director of Marketing at Weidmuller North America.

Weidmuller’s migration platform components have global approvals. The card adaptors are cURus approved and the engineered cables are UL and CSA listed. In addition, the cables are RoHS and FT4 rated at 300V.
