Huffman Engineering explains how the Industrial Internet of Things edges digitalization along
The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is now a necessity in process systems’ application designs, according to system integrator Huffman Engineering.
In an interview with partner publication Control, Huffman engineering manager Keith Mandachit, PE said that having a digital twin makes it “easier to optimize processes and be more efficient in design and test out various process scenarios.”
“Using IIoT allows data to be more actionable, making it more efficient and effective,” he continued. “It’s always been easy to get data, but now we’re spending more time with the end in mind. Determining what we want out of that data and how to get the data to help us make better business decisions is the key.”
