Moxa Takes Industrial Ethernet Switches into Next-generation 10GbE Connectivity Era

June 29, 2011
Moxa today unveiled its 10 Gigabit Ethernet industrial core switch (ICS) product portfolio.

Moxa's ICS-G7000 series-the ICS-G7826/G7828 Layer 3 and ICS-G7526/G7528 Layer 2 24-port Gigabit high-port-density Ethernet switches-provides greater reliability and extensive power and network redundancy for non-stop operation. The fanless design ensures exceptional long-term durability, and a new level of high performance is achieved through the use of a maximum of four 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) ports. The high-capacity 10GbE network connectivity is ideal for building next generation, scalable industrial Ethernet infrastructures for industrial process automation and transportation applications, which need to expand to meet the growing traffic loads and advanced technological requirements of converged network services.

10GbE Upgradeability
Moxa's ICS series establishes an industry-leading benchmark by including up to four 10GbE slots thanks to Moxa's SFP-10G series of 1-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet hot-swappable SFP+ media modules, which provide 10GbE network redundancy and 10GbE uplink/downlink services on the core backbone layer of an industrial network. The switches' high bandwidth capability can integrate video, voice, and data on one network, and is compatible with today's 10/100/1000X networks.

Industrial Reliability and Capability
The ICS-G7826/G7828 and ICS-G7526/G7528 series industrial rackmount Ethernet switches come in a standard size for mounting on a 19-inch rack. The switches are packed with industrial features to deliver a higher level of reliability and availability, including a fanless design, redundant power inputs, 0 to 60°C operating temperature range, UL 60950-1 and EN 50121-4 compliance, and a 5-year warranty. Three flexible port combinations with up to 28 optical fiber connections (SFP slots) have been provided for flexible installation and long distance transmission capability.

Non-stop Operations
The ICS-G7000 switches ensure a higher level of resilience for industrial network infrastructures by supporting Moxa's proprietary Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain self-healing technology, and RSTP/STP for network redundancy. Isolated redundant power inputs with 110/220 VAC power input range and dual imaging for resilient firmware upgrades are also supported.
