Position sensors for harsh environments

Feb. 22, 2011
Novotechnik’s TX2 Series of linear position rod-style sensors is rated at IP 67 to protect from dirt, dust, and humidity.
Available from stock in 8 stroke lengths from 25 to 300 mm. Sensors feature mechanical lengths from 88 to 374 mm, measured on center of pivot heads, and a housing diameter of 18 mm.  Backlash-free pivot heads provide up to 12.5° of free movement, to benefit mobile applications. Repeatability is 0.01mm of full scale regardless of stroke length, and resolution is better than 0.01 mm. Linearity is up to ±0.05 %. Life is up to 50 million movements.  Can be mounted with 2 clamps. Electrical connections are made by either plug connector or cable. Nominal resistance is from 1 kΩ to 12 kΩ depending on stroke length.
