Terminal Blocks and Interconnect Devices Earn 100 kA SCCR Rating

Dec. 22, 2010
Select WAGO Corporation Through-Panel and Chassis-Mount Terminal blocks, as well as Interconnect devices have earned a 100 kA SCCR rating with appropriate fuses.

The newest WAGO products with 100kA SCCR: 862 and 264 and Series Chassis-Mount Blocks, 826 and 828 Series Through-Panel Blocks, 831 Series Multi Connector System Pluggable Connector and X-COM®S Pluggable Connector System.

Stemming from changes enacted by the National Electric Code, SCCR (Short Circuit Current Rating) is represented by UL508A. SCCR ensures proper documentation of the maximum short circuit current a component, assembly or equipment can safely withstand when protected by a specific overcurrent protective device. For instance, a control cabinet's SCCR is the same as that of a component, in the cabinet's electrical distribution path, with the lowest SCCR.

Other WAGO terminal blocks carrying 100kA SCCR include: 280 Series to 285 Series POWER CAGE CLAMP® models, TOPJOB®S terminal blocks, X-COM® and 870 Series CAGE CLAMP® Compact.
