AC Drive Adds EtherNet/IP

Dec. 1, 2009
EtherNet/IP has been added as an optional communication protocol for the SMVector Drive.
The AC drive can seamlessly operate on an EtherNet/IP network with the addition of a simple plug-in communication module, says the vendor. EtherNet/IP joins other network protocols also available as optional modules for the SMVector Drive, including CANopen, DeviceNet, Profibus and Modbus RS-485. As a member of the DeviceNet and ControlNet family known as Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) developed by Rockwell Automation, EtherNet/IP can use the same set of pre-defined common objects, thus making communication between devices from different manufacturers much easier. The SMVector Drive vendor worked with Rockwell engineers to ensure complete product compatibility.Lenze-AC Techwww.lenze-actech.com508.278.9100
