Small PLC Simplifies Networking

June 1, 2009
As latest addition to the vendor’s ILC 1xx series of small programmable controllers, the ILC 170 ETH 2TX features two Ethernet ports, allowing easier networking for small applications.
A built-in Ethernet switch makes it simple to daisy-chain multiple ILC 170 controllers. An optional SD card memory provides program transfer between controllers. The ILC 170 ETH 2TX  also has a 512KB on-board data and program memory and 48KB retentive memory. The controller has eight digital inputs and four digital outputs (500mA), with I/O expandable via Inline I/O modules. Additional features include an integrated real-time clock, PLC switch and support of up to three local remote bus branch modules. Programmable using PC WorX Express, a free programming tool that supports up to 4,096 I/O points, the controller also supports Modbus TCP for data exchange to any Modbus TCP-capable device.Phoenix Contact Inc.www.phoenixcontact.com800.322.3225
