Rugged USB 2.0 Connections

Sept. 1, 2008
The USBField range of USB 2.0 connections for harsh environments is the only one that features reinforced cables and metal-bodied connectors, and one of the few ranges providing solutions for USB A and USB B connections, says the vendor.
The sheaths of the USB leads are reinforced with double shielding. They comply with Fire and Smoke regulations and are self-extinguishing and halogen-free (UL94-V0). They also feature IP67 waterproofing, resistance to salt spray for 48 to 500 hours, and can be used at temperatures from -40°C to +85°C. The locking system uses a screw thread, and incorporates an anti-uncoupling system for resistance to vibrations and impacts. The range fully complies with the USB 2 standard, providing data flows up to 480Mb/s for Full Speed USB. The connectors can be installed easily without tools, says the vendor, and can be fitted on standard USB cables in just a few seconds to convert them into IP67 leads.Amphenol Pcdwww.amphenolpcd.com978.278.1375
